We're attempting to set up a new Windows 7 Pro Service Pack 1 32-bit machine for imaging and need it to be able to install Windows updates whenever they are available. However, when we try to run the update service, we get the following error: "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer." We have stopped/started and restarted the update service as well as rebooted the machine, but the problem remains. What else can we try in order to get this working? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Ivan, Thanks! Deleting the contents of that folder and restarting the service seems to have fixed our problem.
