I have been trying for some time to install update KB300850 on a Dell Venue Pro 11 tablet and when I do so it fails during the "configuring windows.." stage and reverts the update back.
I tried a system restore to factory settings and then installed KB300850 before any other update. This exhibited the same behaviour.
I then performed another factory reset and installed all other updates and then installed KB300850 and recevied the same issue.
I have tried running the following:
- sfc /scannow
- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- The "Automatically diagnose and fix common problems with Windows Update" FixIT program.
None of these options have resolved the issue. When I run the update, either through windows update or via a downloaded installer it reaches 99% then states "Failure configuring windows updates undoing changes".
I did read another thread which talked about a Kodak printer causing the install to fail, however, this system has no printers installed and has been factory reset so there is no other non-Microsoft / Dell software on the tablet.
There is nothing labelled "error" in the cbs log and the update log reports "Failure content Install Installation Failure: windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800f0922: Update for windows 8.1 (KB300850). I have tried to install KB2975061 but it states that this update is already installed.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?
