Cannot hibernate
Running a Lenovo T61 notebook, Win 7 Pro 32bit. Has been hibernating for 2+ years and has hibernated since SP1 install. Suddenly it will not hibernate. There is no events in the error log. When I select Hibernate it logs off and 2 seconds later the logon screen reappears and nothing. Nothing has changed with drivers or BIOS and I don't know what to try (other than reinstall). I have tried disabling and re-enabling hibernation using powercfg.exe. Any other ideas ? Thanks in advance, PB.

PB, Now if suddenly means that you have a) not installed any software since hibernate funcitoned, b) you have not made any hardware changes since hibernate functioned, c) not changed any Windows settings via control panel, especially related to Power then, my suggestions are: 1. WIN | type SYSTEM RESTORE POINT | ENTER | Click on the CHOOSE A DIFFERENT RESTORE POINT radio button | highlight a restore point created BEFORE your problem occurred | Scan for affected programs button (this will let you see what you may need to redo after the restore) | CLOSE | NEXT | FINISH If problem persists, download, install, and run MALWAREBYTES from, AND ONLY FROM, : http://www.malwarebytes.org/
