Cannot get to sqlexpress from win7
I am trying to attach to sqlserver express on a server from access on a windows 7 64 bit box. I get server not found message. when I run sqlcmd -L I get no servers listed at all but when lI run the same command from an XP box next to it I get nineteen servers listed. In wireshark I see a UDP broadcast to ms-sql-m which I believe is the command from sqlcmd as I see the same command from both boxes just different ports when I run sqlcmd on each. I am at a loss as to what can be happening here. Does anyone have an idea where I can look?

Hi, What is the exact error message? It is recommended to post in SQL Server Express forums for a better assistance. Here I just share some references: List of known issues when you install SQL Server on Windows 7 or on Windows Server 2008 R2 Release Notes: Important Issues in Windows 7 Best Regards DalePlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
