Cannot get re-installed Windows XP SP1 connected to internet.
After spending many hours and many attempts with various people involved to fix a corrupted hive file, I recently punted and reloaded WinXP (after pulling all of my user data off the drive from another machine). I am running a D-Link router that is still connected to my cable modem. It works fine because I still have wireless access to my laptops. The problem is that I cannot get the PC with WinXP SP1 connected to the network through the router. I even tried to bypass the router and direct connect from the cable modem, but no connection. When I try the connection wizard, it does not give me any errors, but it also doesn't setup a new connection. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...1 person needs an answerI do too
