Cannot get into gmail.com using Windows 7
I cannot get into my gmail.com account using Windows 7. A warning is given saying that there could be something dangerous in that website. Why is this given? It's the correct gmail.com site. I've tried going into Google.com and then clicking on Gmail, but I get the same result.

Hello again. I've tried to get into gmail.com with AVG switched off, but he same thing happens again. This is what appears on the screen:- Certificate Error: Navigation Blocked There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority. The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address. Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server. We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website. What do I do now? Thanks.

Your ISP may be blocking access to Gmail. I just checked my Gmail and there is no problem.

This may seem a strange question but is your computers date & time correct?
May 26th, 2010 9:24pm

Yes my PC's date & time are correct at this moment. I usually have to go into the Control Panel and update the Internet Time Server. This machine is running on Win XP Pro. But the other machine is running on Win 7 Ultimate and its ISP is The Post Office ( a friends PC I am trying to get connected to gmail.com)

Ach well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Only reason I mentioned it was I had a similar problem last year when I had to keep resetting my BIOS and if I didn't set the date, I came across invalid security certificate errors. This is no consolation, but I've been on the site all day (my ISP is O2, I presume you are in the UK?)

Hello BrowniMFC, Yes I am in a wee bit of the UK, bonnie Auchterarder Perthshire Scotland. Using the only Bundle available here with The Post Office.

Hi, Please also try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Reset Internet Explorer 8 settings. 2. Restart the machine in Safe Mode with Networking and access Gmail.com again. If the issue persists, please capture the error message and upload it for research. Thanks, Novak

Hi all, I'm having the same problem here... I have 2 laptops and I've installed Windows 7 ULTIMATE (clean install, not upgrade). Both laptops can't access gmail.com (it seems to me only gmail.com so far)... I though it's from gmail or my ISP. I tried another laptop (Windows XP) and it's working fine (same WiFi network)... Now one of the 2 laptops has NOTHING installed in it... The only thing I've done (after Win installation) is the Windows Update... The other one has the free version of AVG. Time and date are correct and it SYNC successfully with TIME.NIST.GOV... Any clue?? :(
