Cannot execute setup within network cable pluged in
Dear all, strange behavior at one computer: Running setup.exe to install a software while logged in through domain, cursor will change to "busy" for a few seconds an quit. If I reboot that machine without network connectivity, that setup.exe runs good. The same behavior is related to some already installed application. So I need improvement... Does anyone have any idea what what's going on to that machine (Win7 Prof SP1). Thank you for helping. mj_towner mj_towner

Hi mj_towner, Thanks for posting in TechNet forum. How about other domain-joined computer? If all the domain-joined computer have this issue, please contact the domain administrator to check if there's any restriction. If only this one, please temporarily disable the firewall/anti-virus software, enter into Safe Mode with networking to install the application. Does it work here? Please try a Clean Boot to find if there's any third-party software conflicts. Regards, Miya TechNet Subscriber Support in forum. Hi Miya, sorry for beeing late, daily business kept me away from anserwing. I could make it work as I followed your suggestion making a clean reboot. Changing to selective startup in msconfig and disabling all non Microsoft entries let the setup.exe go through. I could enable *all* non Microsoft entries again and it worked, too. Except going back to "normal startup" prevent setup.exe from starting. For me, as a workaround, this state is ok, but I could not decribe what ist wrong with that machine. Do you have an idea? Thank you for helping! mj_towner mj_towner

Hi mj_towner, Did you load seletive items when normal startup? If so, disable one by one to check the issue. Miya TechNet Subscriber Support in forum. Hi, now I got it (after lots of reboots): If "InFocusProjektorManagerSetup" is started by the system startup (as it was by default), my software could not work. I end that prcoess in taskmanager and my software came right up! I deactivated that item and it looks fine rigth now. Thank you very much. mj_townermj_towner
