Cannot end program messages when shutting down XP.
When I shut down XP, I always get an 'end program' message. The actual program name changes. Today it has been 45c, 61c, 644, and 290. I did an MSCONFIG and unchecked bogus programs but it still happens. What else can I do? Thanks!1 person needs an answerI do too

Hello,I tried the step-by-step you suggested, but I still get the 'end program' message when I reboot. Today the messages have all started with 4, like 41c and 420. Anything else I can try? Should I be concerned. Thanks much!

OK,I ran the regedit, the RAM test and sfc/scannow. After doing everything I still got the 'end program' messages. Now when I did the 'clean boot' I was able to successfully reboot without the message. Should I one-by-one add back in things to my startup? Thanks again!
