Please start with the basics and report back with answers/results for more help if you need it. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't? The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this? Be sure the computer is clean: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_MalwareMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Thanks for your reply...lemme start at square one...I have a power strip that my computor and accessories is plugged into. It was unplugged accidently. I plugged it back in and everything went normal. I loaded AOL, then went to open up one of my casino programs. It opened then told me there was a network error and to check my connections. I then opened up internet explorer and went to a website that uses flash. My flash would not load even though I have the most recent version. I tried to download some software and it just sat there saying downloading file, but it never went off of 0% completed. And when I use internet explorer and clear my browsing history, I get a message that says not connected, work offline or try again. I press try again and I can surf the web fine. So basically the link between AOL and my browser is somewhat compromised or something. I don't know if this is an adapter problem, registry problem or what. I am not that computor savvy. I also used the McAffee program and it found no errors. It is an older version but it said no viruses were present. So, basically, I cannot download any files from the internet via AOL or I.E. 7, and I cannot get my flash to run in any form. My java works fine. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated! I am running Win. XP, IE7...just a basic computor. Is there a sight anywhere that will scan my files to see what the problem is maybe...? I have tried system restore and re-installing AOL...nothing works.

Because you use "casino programs" you also need to do some thorough scanning per these steps: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware Do not skip the preparatory work. You should also can McAfee and get a better antivirus program. I recommend NOD32 (commercial), Avast, Avira or MS Security Essentials if you want free. But you need to do the scanning first. After you've done the scanning, post back if you need more help. If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad).
