Cannot disable desktop backgroud (or vista effect) on RDC to Vista
Hello,I use remote desktop connection (RDC) to connect my home computer (Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit). Because the connection is over a low bandwidth WLAN, I wanted to remove the desktop background while in RDC. I tried to change it at the Expirence tab (I chose the "Modem 28.8Kbps" option) and even by the GPO (Enforce removal of Remote Desktop wallpaper) and still the desktop baground stayed and so did the rest of the Vista effects.Any ideas about working this out? Hi, Are you using the latest RDC software? At the Experience tab, there is an option of "Allow desktop background", please uncheck it and test the issue again. Hope it helps.

I use an XP computer (updated to SP3) to reach my Vista computer. As I stated before I tried 2 things:Unchecked all the options at the Experience tab (Modem 28.8K configuration).Applied the GPO of "Enforce removal of Remote Desktop wallpaper" on the remote computer. Eran

No, That's ok, I already solved it.I changed the Remote Desktop Size resolution to anything smaller than Full Screen and it worked (also maintained the Modem 28.8K configuration). Eran
