Cannot detect any wireless networks Win7
I have an interesting dilemna. Last night I was toying around with my networking trying to set Hamachi as a priority so I could use it as a LAN connection with a friend for a game. One of the things I found that had worked in the past was to throw yourself in the LAN screen of the game, then DISABLE the wireless connection, wait a few seconds, then reenable the connection. As soon as I disabled the wireless connection, and then reenabled it, I have not been able to detect any wireless networks. I even tried restoring to an earlier partition, and yes, the switch is on to detect Wireless networks on my laptop and the networks are in working order in my area. I checked (without internet) if windows had the updated wireless driver and it said it did. I have never seen a problem where turning off wireless connections and then re-enabling it has caused the computer to not detect any networks whatsoever. Any help or guidance?

Also when I trouble shoot it suggest that I flip the switch to enable network detection. It is on and I have had no problems turning the switch on and off before.

Hi Ambasabi, Hamachi support advises that the virtual adapter is at the bottom in priorty for confilct advoidance reasons. It also advises that when changed on a wireless network you may get unpredictable results. https://secure.logmein.com/US/support/free/ Search Phrases 1. How can I change the priority of the virtual network adapter? 2. Why does my internet connection fail when Hamachi is enabled? I would suggest that you return the priorty to the default settings. Explore the Hamachi support for further information as this really isn't a Windows 7 issue, but a third-party application problem.

Ambasabi, are you using Hamachi 1.x or 2.x. For gaming it is the metric setting you change. logmein claims you should use 2.x but we stuck with 1.x (installed in compatibitily mode) as it is more stable. Note: I do not do gaming but I do know to give a connection priority you adjust the metric.

I already went back and changed the priority of Hamachi. Better than that, I restored windows to a previous partition that was before hamachi was even installed on my computer. I still cannot see any wireless networks and all of the settings are as they were when my computer WAS able to detect.

find the device in device manager and have windows update drivers. reboot when it's completed, if it finds and applies drivers.

It says that windows has determined that the driver software is up to date.
