Cannot delete or move email messages in outlook express
During the process of correcting error code 0x800c0133 (cannot receive emails) I moved and deleted many emils in my outlook express, using the shift and arrow keys to do many at a time. At first this went well, but suddenly the delete process seemed to become confused and the system jammed up. I restarted the computer thinking that would clear it up and it did somewhat, but I now cannot delete or move messages. (I discovered that I can delete them if I hold the shift key and then the delete key and hit yes, but the message does not go into deleted items - it just dissappears). I did get the error code 0x800c0133 to correct, but I now have this other problem.

Your original problem was a corrupt Inbox. We'll deal with that later. First, create a new Deleted Items folder.Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer or, copy and paste it into Start | Run.In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View. With OE closed, find the DBX file for Deleted Items and delete it. A new one will be created automatically when you open OE.You should be able to start deleting messages, but post back. You're not done yet.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

Hello I am also having problems with my outlook email account. To be honest i'm not even sure i have it setup correctly. Is there one of those wizards that can take me through the initial setup again or do i have to do it manually? I have tried it manually but i don't know what to choose as far as a server ie..mitmap, exchange server, or whatever those options are....i have tried to send emails but they just get stuck in the outbox and don't go anywhere...am i screwed here or can someone assist? i currently use my yahoo.com account as my primary email but because outlook allows me i think to attach larger files(bigger than 25mb or something bytes) to send, i would like to have that account setup as well. also i am working in Microsoft XP and my oldish computer seems to work fine.

Thank you.2: Outlook and Outlook Express are not the same program.3: Outlook is not an e-mail account, it is a desktop e-mail client. You still send through your mail server.4: Outlook has its own forums. Please ask the experts there.Microsoft Office Outlook Forumshttp://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/officeoutlookBruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA
