Usually you set your mail program to offline, then delete the msg

Often these problems are due to the Sent Items folder (which is actually a disk file) being too large. The message becomes stuck in Outbox (and doesn't send) because the Sent Items folder cannot accept it.Note that just deleting -or moving stuff to another folder- on its own doesn't clear the problem, you must then compact the folder from the File.. menu option. This will take some time, and your computer will be very unresponsive till it completes. To clear the print queue you need to stop the spooler service, delete the offending item, then restart the spooler."net stop spooler" at a commandprompt will do this. Or use services.msc.

You can go to File | Work Offline in OE and then go to the outbox and delete the message. Alternatively, you can close OE and delete the outbox.dbx file (hidden) and OE will create a new empty one. steve "c10512p" wrote in message news:ba538c06-2767-4475-87a6-a43cf1f15a0e...Can someone please tell me how to delete hung items in the outbox of outlook express, and in the printer spool for printer - everytime i try to delete in outlook it tells me it cannot because it has already started sending the email (it has been sending for over a week) I have also tried to delete a print job in the printer spool to no avail - Please Help!!!!
