Cannot control a win 7 RC1 by remote desktop
Hey,i've installed the new win7 RC1 on one of my computers, unfortunaly i cannot control it with remote desktop.the computer is connected by an edimax ew7128 wireless adapater (PCI connection) to the internet.each time i try to use the RDP i get to the login screen where it prompts for a user name and password, i type my credentials and it looks fine, but then it gets stuck, after a quick check i found that when i login via RDP the wireless adapter gets shut down, only when i login on the local PC it starts working again.does anyone know a solution for this ? or had the same problem ?Thanks Yaron

I'm having the same issue and am also using a Edimax EW-7128G PCI card. I get the login screen, enter my password and I just see loading screen till I get disconnected. I had my girlfriend go look at the PC and it showes me logged in. I had here login and I was able to reconnect after she logged in, but it just went to loading screen again and then disconnected. I'll have to check it from another computer at the house to see if indeed it is the network adapter shutting off.

Just to confirm the NIC stops working as states above (computer no longer pingable). However when checking the connection status the Duration is a lot longer than 2-3 minutes (since the NIC just shut down). In the event viewer I see this... The TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service was successfully sent a stop control. The reason specified was: 0x40030011 [Operating System: Network Connectivity (Planned)] Comment: None I'm using a static IP, IP6 is disabled, no power saving options enabled. I downloaded the Vista driver for my NIC from the Edimax website. I have no problems using the computer or accessing the network at any other times.

No one has any idea about this? I have 0 issues under WinXP SP3. I skipped Vista as is very slow and does weird thing like this, but man XP is getting a little old.

I have the exact same issue. Also using a wireless networkcard (RaLink). I start up a ping windows7computer -t (runs fine)let it run in the background, and then start up a remote desktop session from my Xp sp3 machine, towards my windows 7 machine. (which is 5 feet away).I get login picture, and type my password. I then get the welcome screen and and it hangs. In my cmd window, my pings time out. And continue to do so.I then get up, walk to my windows 7 machine, and log in locally.Walk back, to my win xp, and voila, my ping has started answering again...This is driving me nuts :) any suggestions?

Can you check Windows update for a newer or more compatible driver? When this occurs does device manager or action center reflect an issue?
