Cannot connect using wireless
Hi I'm having problems connecting to my broadband using wireless connection on my Toshiba laptop. It has previously woirked on wireless but I recently had to change my router. I had follwed all the instructions to install, even called AOL for support. I have now ruled out the router (D-LINK) & the broadband service so it must be something to do with the software on my laptop. This is where I am very stuck, I am not a techy & now don't know what else to check. I beleive I have done the basics, loaded the service pac 1 as I thought this might correct what was wrong, ensured all other updates were loaded, removed the security from my router but still cannot connect using wireless. What could have changed to stop it from working?? Can anyone hellp???? Thanks

It might be a good idea to let us know what wireless adapter you have (Start -> Network -> Network and Sharing Center -> Manage network connections -> Underneath Wireless Network Connection it will list the adapter you have, for example mine would say "Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN".Also, what router are you using? I know you mentioned D-Link but they have a variety of routers available that have different wireless frequencies, ranges and speeds. If you list the model number we can find out the details of the router and we can provide better answers for you.
