Cannot connect to the internet using Vista Home Premium 64 bit - evidently I have both 32 & 64  on  the same operating system since I can connect on 32 bit although slow
Computer is HP a6600f deskto PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Until a couple of weeks ago, I could connect to the internet on either launch of 32 or 64 bit. 64 bit stopped and displays the message "unable to display the page". I have done all the steps to reset, etc. that HP has recommended (page after page) to no avail. They finally said I had a dual boot system and they were unable to help. Vista was installed by HP and now Microsoft will not recognize the program ID to connect me to technical help. Computer is less than a year old. My ISP provider - Comcast has checked all their equipment - modem, cables, speed, and found no problems with their service. Does anyone else have this dual 32-64 bit problem?

Hello Broadwaysunslash I just recently had the same problem as you. log in to your router and change your security settings to wep key. 128 or 64 it doesn't matter. Leave the other security settings alone. That is all that is required no unpluging cords, no changing operating systems. This works for vista and 7. No need to thank me pass it forward.

Hello , Thank you for your post! I would suggest creating a new thread for your question in the (Windows Client TechCenter > Windows Vista IT Pro Forums > Windows Vista Networking ) forum located here: (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itprovistanetworking/threads). Hope that would be helpful. Have a great day! Thanks & regards,Siddharth Chavan Tier II Application Support Server and Tools Online Operations Team.
