Cannot connect to share over VPN (but can RDP) - was working but suddenly failing
Hi, have a very strange issue and would really appreciate some advice. Windows 7 Enterprise - I have various VPN connections set up on my machine and all are suddenly having the same problem. I can connect to the VPN, I can RDP to any server, I can connect outlook to exchange on the server BUT I cannot map to any shares. I get error Windows cannot access \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\sharename (Error 0x80070035 Network Location cannot be reached) Also, in the system event log I get a NetBT Error - Event ID: 4311 as below: Initialization failed because the driver device could not be created. Use the string "000000000100320000000000D71000C011010000010000C003000000000000000000000000000000" to identify the interface for which initialization failed. It represents the MAC address of the failed interface or the Globally Unique Interface Identifier (GUID) if NetBT was unable to map from GUID to MAC address. If neither the MAC address nor the GUID were available, the string represents a cluster device name. Would be so grateful for any advice on how to fix this - I have tried things such as disabling the firewall and Forefront, clearing the credentials cache, but makes no difference. Many thanks

Hi, The Error code 0x80070035 indicates that the network path was not found. To troubleshoot the issue, I suggest you try the following steps. 1. Make sure that Network Discovery is turned on on laptop 2, by default the Network Discovery state is off. If the Network Discovery is off, please take the following steps to turn it on. 1) Click Start. 2) Click Control Panel. 3) Click Networking and Sharing Center. 4) Click the Drop Down arrow next to Network Discovery. 5) Click the option, Turn on network discovery. 6) Click apply. 2. Use the net command map the drive. 1) Click Start. 2) Right click Command Prompt by running as administrator. 3) Type the command: net use m:\\NHD\letters\ For more information about net use, please visit the following website. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb490717.aspx Best Regards.
