Cannot connect to password protected file shares(Win 7), probably need to sync credentials somehow
Hello folks, I recently upgraded my computers to Win 7, and I'm now having some trouble with file sharing. Homegroup stuff seems to work fine, at least for read-only stuff. I'd like to also setup some shares that are password protected. It appears that the process in Win 7 should be similar to XP - I right-click the folder, choose advanced sharing, choose permissions, and add my username. Unfortunately, when I try to connect to the folder, I get an error saying, "You do not have permission to access ..." My username on both machines is the same. This always worked in XP. I changed some stuff in the credentials section of the user accounts control panel, thinking I'd found the solution. Unfortunately, I can't remember what the original settings were. What is appropriate? Please help! Thanks, Eglin

PS. If I connect to the folder via the IP address of the other machine, everything works fine. If I browse to it via either the homegroup or the network tree, it fails w/ the permission error.
