Cannot connect to cable modem - computer has no IP address
My daughter recently moved and had Comcast internet service installed. Previously she connected via AT&T. When trying to install the Comcast software it says there is no connection. All cables are installed properly and the appropriate lights are flashing. When I disconnect the ethernet cable, the lights go out when I plug them in the lights go back on. When I issue the ipconfig command, it comes back blank. The Comcast tech tried a number of things including trying to release then renew the IP address but nothing works. The DHCP service is up and running. Its funny because this same computer connected fine 5 days ago so it must have had an IP address. Any help will be much appreciated. 1 person needs an answerI do too
