Cannot connect to WIRED network, Wireless is fine
I'm currently using Windows 7 build 7100. Ever since the updates were installed to Windows 7, I have been unable to use my wired connection. I am able to use my wireless connection though and have been using it the past few days. In my Devices and Printers, I have the following Wireless and Wired Devices showing up in my Device Manager: Novatel Wireless HSDPA Modem Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN Marvell Yukon 88E8040 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller I don't have a clue what that Novatel Wireless HSDPA Modem is about, but it shows up in my devices so I figured I'd mention it. The router I am connecting to is a Linksys WRT54G.

Hi Knightly,First question: Are you able to get an IP address after connecting to the wired network? Check if the gateway etc are correct. You might want to try disabling IPv6 on your wired network and see if this helps. Also can you try reinstalling your Marvell Yukon ethernet driver?Jabez Gan [MVP] - http://www.msblog.org Contributing Author for: (Sybex) MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure Configuration Study Guide: Exam 70-643

KnightlyReporter: Are you still having problems connecting with your wired connection? Have you run Windows Update and checked the optional updates to see if there is anything that might be related to your problem (ethernet drivers, for example)? -Nick
