Cannot connect to Internet via Net Gear with Vista Home Basic Service Pack 2
I changed over from a Motorola SB5101 SURFBoard to a NETGEAR Cable Home Network Gateway cgd24n V2. I registered the device with Bigpond.com (Australia) via my desktop computer which uses a Windows XP Professional program. I installed it using a cable connection. I also connected a Toshiba Laptop via cable to the network without the use of the accompanying installer disk. It had been using a dial-up connection which I changed to cable via inetwiz. Both computers are able to upload and download to the Internet. I also tried to connect an Ienovo R61e ThinkPad using the Windows Vista Home Basic operating system. This was unsuccessful. Windows' Diagnose Connection Problems tells me "There might be a problem with one or more network adapters on this computer. When I proceeded using 'Automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter "Local Area Connection", but it did not fix the problem. The computer has the programmed ability to connect with a Home Network, but previously it always connected directly to the Internet. The security System used is Trend Internet Security Pro. When I proceeded using the "Reset the network adapter "Local Area Connection" the program responded "There still seems to be a problem with the network adapter". How can I 'repair' or 'replace' or 'reprogram' the network adapter?

You need to try this program first it corrected my battle of not being able to connect. let me know if it works for you as well my network adapter driver was way out of date. Driver for adapter is out of date on HP & Microsoft Update Pages. Finally found program that is free to use here is web site http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/ for those with local only connection on wireless. Fixed my local only problem. I would just make sure you get only digitally signed drivers they worked best for me. I have tried every thing in almost every blog and help sites assists I have read for the last month with no luck. Removed all my security & anti virus even used the special removal tools no luck till I found this free Driver Program. Give it a try and Good luck to everyone else with this same problem.
