Cannot connect to FTP on Win 7 64 bit laptop
Hello everyone. I came to see if anyone knows how to fix this problem. I have an hp server that runs ftp. When i try to connect to it, it just says connected to xxx.x.xxx.132. It just stays there. Can someone tell me how to fix this? If you need screenies, just ask.

What FTP are you running & did you ensure you input the hostname/address, id & password correctly? Lastly is there any third party firewall on the hp server?

hai, SOCKS—which is shorthand for Secured Over Credential-Based Kerberos Services—is one of the earliest and most universally used protocols on the planet that establishes a dependable, quick, and quality connection over the Internet. SOCKS also sports a variety of benefits that are common to clients who manage complex and complicated computer networks. SOCKS is also a network protocol specifically engineered to enable clients to communicate with web servers through firewalls because of its ability to route network packets between client-server software through a proxy server. This handy protocol is compatible with all the popular instant messaging and Internet browsing applications as a proxy configuration choice. It can even be employed in several VPN implementations as well. Even though the SOCKS protocol was established a long time ago, it's still considered a relatively new protocol when compared to, say, HTTP. SOCKS enables users to work with any of the other protocol types available. What's more, it approaches data transfers in a streamlined and straightforward manner, sending information from a client to a server without going through the data's content. As such, it works splendidly well with protocols like NNTP, POP3, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, and so on... Download these & try:- Danteis a circuit-level SOCKS server that can be used to provide convenient and secure network connectivity, requiring only the host Dante runs on to have external network connectivity. OpenSSHallows dynamic creation of tunnels, specified via a subset of the SOCKS protocol, supporting the CONNECT command. PuTTYis a Win32 SSH client that supports local creation of SOCKS (dynamic) tunnels through remote SSH servers. sSockssSocks is socks5 server, implementsRFC 1928(SOCKS V5) andRFC 1929(Authentication for SOCKS V5) Open Source running on Linux. Sun Java System Web Proxy Serveris a caching proxy server running on Solaris, Linux and Windows servers that supports HTTPS, NSAPI I/O filters, dynamic reconfiguration, SOCKSv5 andreverse proxy. WinGateis a multi-protocol proxy server and SOCKS server for Microsoft Windows. SS5SS5 is a socks server that implements the SOCKS v4 and v5 protocol. Try connecting these simple softwaers...
