Cannot connect CM1312nfi printer in a home network with Win7 64 bit
I have a desktop at home installed with Win7 ultimate and installed the HP color laserjet Cm1312nfi MPF printer connected with USB cable. This printer is shared in my home workgroup. I try to connect this CM1312nfi MPF with my laptop running Win7 Ultimate 64bit. My laptop can see this shared printer but cannot be connected. Each time it shows no printer driver found. I have downloaded the univeral printer driver HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 x64 from HP support site. It still does not connect!. There is another printer HP laserjet 1020 connected to the desktop and also shared. The laptop can connect with it of no difficulty at all. Can someone help me to solve this problem?

Please temporarily disable antivirus and firewall on the problematic computer and try again. If the issue persists, try the following step to connect to the shared printer. 1. Click the Star t button, click Control Panel and double click Devices and Printers . 2. Click Add a Printer . 3. Select Add a local printer . 4. Select Create a new port . Choose Local Port as the type of the port. 5. In the box Enter a port name , type the address as the following format. \\<IP address of the host computer>\<The Share Name of the printer> Then click Next . 6. Select the correct driver from the driver list. If the required driver is not present, click the Windows Update button. After the update finishes, search for the proper driver again. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. It works, thanks alot! Strangely it has to be connected as local printer rather than network printer!Edmond Chung
