i have just upgraded my brother computer from vista to windows 7 ultimate, it has connected to my home wireless network but still calls it a public network and cannot connect to the internet, my other computer with windows 7 on works fine on the home network. i am not that good with networking and have ran out of thing to try, i have tried resetting the ip/router/dns but these don't work, and the troubleshooter dosent detect any problums. This issue can be caused by the network adapter driver that may be not compatible with Windows 7. You may need to download the latest driver from the manufacturer's website and install it.
