Cannot change UAC settings in Local Group Policy Editor
Hello, I'm using Vista Enterprise and had shut off UAC because it was blocking everything (as its supposed to). Now UAC has turned itself back on. if I shut it off again, when I reboot, it stays off, but on the next reboot it comes back on. I don't know what is turning it back on. Is there a way to figure out what is turning it back on? Some other information that may be useful: I am an Administrator (as far as I can tell) but some of the security settings are grayed out. For example, all the User Account Control settings are listed but I cannot change them. Also, I get an Access Denied error if I run this from the command line: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k %windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f Yet I can run MSCONFIG.EXE and from the Tools tab I am able to Disable the UAC. Thank you for the help. ~J
