I have been unable to add any pages to my favorites folder or bar. No error just nothing happens. I am running windows 8.1 pro and I have a windows server 2012 essentials box and I have folder redirect and other such feature activated. This is the only PC on the network that has lost the use of its favorites feature.

Try to isolate your symptom from IE.  E.g. open  shell:Favorites.  Try dragging a link to it.  What happens?  (If it works you would have a temporary workaround.  <w>)
