Hi Driftwood, If you could not see any other computer in Network, Network Discovery may be not enabled. I suggest that you turn on Network Discovery. 1. Click Start->Control Panel. Double-click on Network and Sharing Center. 2. In the left pane, click on "Change advanced sharing settings".3. Turn on Network Discovery. However, if you could see other computers from Network, but cannot access any of them, please let us know if there is any error message. If error message is received, please press Ctrl+C to copy the content and paste into your post.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Hi Leo, Are there other computers? If so, how do they work? What is the system of your server, is it Windows Server 2003? If so, the issue may be caused by the different authentication level. You will find that the authentication levels in Windows Server 2003 and Windows 7 RC are different. You may change the level in Windows 7 RC to make it the same as in the server to try to resolve the issue. Network security: LAN Manager authentication levelArthur Xie - MSFT

I have just upgraded to Win7 Build 7100. I had the same problem in that I could see all my networked XP machines but not access any of the shared files. All my networked Vista machines were accessible ok. It took a lot of sorting out but was as simple as uninstalling the Network adapter in device manager on the XP machines and then restarting the computers. Not had a problem since! Good luck.

With Network discovery and all that turned on, I still had trouble. I turned off my windows 7 Firewall, let it discover my xp computers on the network and turned my firewall back on. Seems like a clugely way to do it but it worked for me.

Many thanksall seems to be going nowSeems strage to me that microsoft tell us not to use win7 RC on a computor that is currently being used and then we are told that Homegroup will only work between computors with win 7 RCby the way I don't have a server. all 3 coputors are hard wired to a routerregardsjohn driftwood
