Cannot access external drive attached to Vista PC
I have one Vista business PC with one external drive connected to it, which is shared in the network of 2 other XP pc. Now I installed Windows 7 on a laptop. I can see and access all the shared resources on all PC, including online storage via Vista PC. However, the external drive can be seen on Windows 7 as it exists, but I can not see the contents - can not access it. I have read through many of the posts and verified and re-verified the sharing attributes. No luck so far.

Have you tried giving Everyone access? If not, right-click Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management then right-click the drive graphic > Properties > Sharing Tab > Advanced Sharing > tick Share this folder and type in a Share Name > Apply > OK. Now go to the Security Tab > Edit > Add then type Everyone (not the quotes) > Check Names > OK and below it select your preferences, e.g. Full Control, etc. > Apply > Reply Yes to any security message > Keep pressing OK to any deny messages > OK, etc. to finish.
