Cannot access Microsoft Update on Windows 7
I have asked this before but have had n answers so I am trying again.I can access windows update ok but trying to access Microsoft Update fails after it checks wheter I have the correct software. I get the following message but it does not help in any way.ThanksRay The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. It seems like some WU system files might have been corrupted or damaged, in my opinion the best way is to do in-place upgrade using W7 installation DVD. My English is not very well.

Thanks for this but I think you may be missing the point.WINDOWS Update works properly and I can install any UpdatesMICROSOFTE Update wil not run at all/ThanksRay

Microsoft Update uses WU core, I'm talking about 0x80070002 error code and recommend you to perform in-place upgrade, also you can try Mark's suggestion (see above). Stop WU, BITS and cryptographyc services, clear %temp% folder, rename C\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and C\Windows\system32\catroot2 folders then start WU, BITS and cryptographyc services.Hope this helps.
