Cannot Unpin Item From Taskbar
I put a link to Microsoft VirtualPC on my taskbar. Now I wantto remove it. When I choose "Unpin item from taskbar", I get a dialog that says:"The item you selected is unavailable. It might have been moved, renamed, or removed. Do you want to remove it from the list?"Well of course I do, so I click yes... but nothing happens. I want that icon gone! (I've also tried choosing No in the dialog that appears, but it doesn't do anything either).

Hi, You can try to manually remove the item from TaskBar folder. 1. Go to: C:\Users\<user name>\Appdata\roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar 2. Please delete the shortcut of Virtual PC. Does it work? If not, please let me know the detail error information. Thanks.

I solved it previously by finding a shortcut to VirtualPC in my start menu, choosing to pin it to the taskbar, then I was able to unpin it.The problem seemed to have been caused when I pinned a program from in the startmenu, then moved the start menu shortcut to another folder in the start menu.

I have a similar problem. I pinned a program to the taskbar and unistalled it. Now I have an Icon that is a blank white sheet of paper and I can move it around but I cant right click it and there is nothing in the folder you mentioned. When I mouse over it I get what looks like a registry key string. I think I added the shortcut by dragging it from the Games Explorer. The icon is not in games explorer anymore just on the task bar.

I'm such an ID10T. I clicked on it and it said it was no longer valid or something like that and asked if I wanted to remove it. When I clicked yes it went away.
