Hi, Is there any error message when accessing the folder? If so, please post it here. At this stage, I suggest you refer to the following article to take ownership of folder. How to Take Ownership & Grant Permissions to Access Files & Folder in Windows 7 Please Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. If the issue persists, I suggest you restart the machine to Safe Mode and check whether the folder can be accessed in this mode. Thanks, Novak

Based on what you said there, you're trying to access folders that aren't really folders - they're application-compatibility shims. Why do I say this? Because your example (\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data) is one of them.Note the 'shortcut' arrow on the folder (in addition to the fact that it's a hidden/system folder)? Bottom line: it can't be "fixed", because there's nothing wrong. There is nothing contained within that folder (that isn't really a folder.) Same goes for \Local Settings, \My Documents (the hidden one), \Cookies, \Start menu, \NetHood, \PrintHood, \SendTo, and \Templates.Just re-hide the Hidden and System files/folders, and your 'problem' will disappear. ;) HTH,Chris[If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message.
