Cannot Log back in after Pressing the Switch User keys.
Hi,I am using Windows XP SP3.I was not able to log back into my computer after using the Win+L buttons to lock my computer. There are only two accounts on this workstation, a User and Admin account. This happens on the User account (as i barely use the Admin account). The Admin account was oddly locked out too. After rebooting my machine i can log back into both accounts. This problem occurs once every few weeks (I normally lock my computer 8-12 times a day) and only in the mornings.I'm guessing this is most likely a software issue as i have scanned my computer with Avast and Microsoft Essentials and found no virus/malware. I don't install many programs on my workstation. The problems started occuring after i installed Bacula and Microsoft Essential in the same week.Has anyone had the same problems or know how to fix this?Regards,B Poole 1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi B Poole,Did you make any software or hardware changes prior to this issue?Let’s follow these methods & check if it helps.Method 1You may configure the computer in clean boot & check if the issue persists. It will start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs and helps to eliminate software conflicts. The following link has steps showing how to perform clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353Note: Please ensure that the computer is set to start as usual by following the section ‘Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state’ from the article: How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353Method 2You may also create a new user account & check if the issue persists. How to create and configure user accounts in Windows XPHope the information helps.
