Cannot Connect to XP share from Windows 7
I know there are a ton of posts on this as I have taken a week to try and resolve this. My Setup: Windows XP SP3 Desktop, Windows XP SP3 Laptop, Windows 7 Ultimate 64x Desktop. My XP machines can see each other and I am able to share files. My Windows 7 machine can see my XP machines but not the shares. I can access media devices on XP boxes and play the music on the Windows 7 machine, but I cannot share files. What I am trying to do is be able to access files from an old box (XP) and copy them over to the new box (win 7). Should be easy, but appears not to be. I have setup my network as a "work" network in windows 7. What do I need to do to share files with my Windows 7 machine?

Check out this simple file sharing in XP article and enable it on your XP computer, see whether you can access it from Win7 computer. Remember to disable simple file sharing when it's not in use. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dawooddoe, I have everything working except being able to access the XP shares. The XP computers can access each other and the Windows 7 share, but the windows 7 computer cannot access or see the xp shares. I know I am close. So if the XP machines can see and use everything to include access the windows 7 machine, why can't the windows 7 machine access the xp shares? I do have simpe file sharing on. plus, if I use net view it works from the xp machines but not from the windows 7 machine... NETBIOS?
