Cannot Accesst Network Folders with W7 Enterprise When Working Remotely (using a VPN)
After upgrading our office OS from XP Pro to W7 Enterprise, we can no longer access network shared folders when working remotely (using a VPN). We could using XP Pro with no problems. When working remotely using a Cisco VPN on W7, we can access shared network printers and other shared assets. We use Active Directory. Here is the trouble shooting I have done so far: -Added complete domain admin rights to a test user. -Ensured all the shared folder properties, including security settings are correct. -In gpedit/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Options, peformed the following: --Disabled: Network Access: Restrict anonymous access to named pipes and shares --Disabled: Network Access: Do not allow anomyous enumeration of SAM accounts and shares Thanks, Pablo//s//

What is your VPN server? Is it a Cisco VPN server? If so, you should connect it with a Cisco VPN client. Otherwise we cannot be assure that it will work. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
