Hello,
So I first realised I had a problem when one day all of my applications disappeared from the Start screen. They still existed in my program files, and I could access them from there, but they would not appear in my start screen (or my all apps screen). I could not search for them (they wouldn't appear) so if I want to use any applications, i have to go to program files to do so. I then tried to open my PC settings the next day and the following error popped up and I decided I had to try and fix it.
1. I followed instructions telling me to use SetACL and this didn't change anything.
2. I checked in my registry to make sure everything was there and it was.
3. I ran SFC Scan Now.... and it failed
There were a million errors saying: DIRSD OWNER WARNING e.g.
2015-06-07 16:35:10, Info CSI 00000120 [DIRSD OWNER WARNING] Directory [ml:520{260},l:56{28}]"\??\C:\Windows\Inf\BITS\0000" is not owned but specifies SDDL in component Microsoft-Windows-Bits-Perf, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_INTEL (0), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral
4. I checked my Services to see if my Remote Procedure services were running... and they were...
5. I ran the DISM restore health command and it failed with a 80240021 error...
Any advice?
