You can upgrade Vista with Service Pack 1 to Windows 7 (build 7000) both the 32 and 64 bit versions (I've done this myself). As the specific SKU's and their relationship to Vista SKU's haven't been announced, it's premature to speculate beyond the fact that upgrades will likely be offerred between similar SKU's.- John

While you can upgrade from Vista to Win7, I'd strongly advise against it. Such upgrades can often cause all sorts of troubles, which might even not be evident at first glance but only cop up later, and then you have no idea what caused it. This is especially valid for upgrading to a beta OS, which is likely to cause even more problems.A clean install of a new OS is in any case preferable. It also narrows down possible causes when troubleshooting - otherwise you'll never know if it wasn't the upgrade process which screwed up things somehow.

Can Win7 64 bit be installed over Vista 32 bit SP1? Is there still a limitation on 32 bit and ram in Win7?ThanksRon

Nonetheless, upgrading (though MS might be interested in the info) is not a good idea with build 7000 (it's a beta). RTM versionsare something else.no; movie maker and photo album are now part of Live. (as messenger)RegardsRem
