Can the TPM hold keys for two drives?
Not sure if this is the best forum for this question, but I'll start here. On my laptop I currently have a 300MB system volume, and then a large volume with Windows 7 installed with BitLocker enabled with the TPM only. I also have a large volume that has a VHD for Windows Server 2008 R2. Sometimes I boot from this VHD so I can test things and demo things with Hyper-V. I don't really need the 2008 R2 VHD encrypted, but it would make it easier to unlock the Win7 volume if i didnt have to connect the USB drive every time. If I were to enable BitLocker from Server 2008 for this VHD file, and store the keys in the TPM, would that overwrite the key that Win7 stored in the TPM? Or can the TPM hold keys for more than one drive? Thanks.

Hi, TPM can store different keys of different drive. So if you encrypt Server 2008, new TPM key will be created and it will not overwrite the original key with Windows 7. Regards, Leo Huang Leo Huang TechNet Community Support
