Hi You need to go into the Network and Sharing center, find your wireless network if itis set to Public Network you should change it to Home network. Just click the link and select home in the popup. If that is not the issue we will look deeper.

First thing, Please make sure you are connecting to your wireless router and not your neighbors. It is amazing how many times this is the cause of your problem.

Yes sir, very possible especially if you're not hiding your SSID from broadcasting (recommended). You just have to know its there, to others it just shows as a secure network while I see three of my neighbors broadcasting there's (not good). So verify you're on your own wireless network and not somebody else's. It happens if you just leave it set to default. (anyone then can then go in and make changes). What Bubbapcguy suggested will verify what we suspect. As for the wireless printer, I might suspect you have an HP wireless, if so, view HP's little demo on how to configure and set it up http://h20331.www2.hp.com/hho/cache/606869-0-0-225-121.html. If it isn't an HP that demo will probably still prove useful as it'll be similar to others wireless setup. MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

Because most people do recommend not broadcasting your SSID. It is under "Why Non-broadcast Networks are not a Security Feature" http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb726942.aspx

That why you don't use WEP or open authentication, I use WPA2-Personal and a key that hasupper case, lower case, numbers and symbols. I'll continue to keep my system in non-broadcast mode. ;-) My neighbors are open except for one and his isn't very secure (bad to use a password that's the same as your SSID).MCSE, MCSA, MCDST
