Can not save to network share
Hallo, I have troubles with Windows 7 saving files from Word, Notepad, Outlook, ... to my network share mapped to a drive letter on the Win7 client. Environment: Client Z: -> \\DomainDFS\DFSNameSpace\User -> \\NAS\share Using Explorer I am able to copy files to Z:, but I am not able to save files from notepad, outlook or word to Z:. If I do this I get this error message: "You cant save here. Please choose another location". I checked the permissions on the network share, they are ok. I open notepad and try to save the file to the locations: Z: ==> does not work \\DomainDFS\DFSNameSpace\User ==> OK \\NAS\Share ==> OK This error occurs only on Windows 7 (RC1), not on Vista or XP.... If I save a file into a subdirectory of z: (e.g. Z:\Test\) everything works fine. Thanks, Franz

I have an Identical Problem My U: Drive is my home Drive I have Full permisions to that folder under my username as well as under Domain admins. The other Tech at this school has identical Group memeber ship to me and has no problem accessing his Home Folder Domain started life as a Windows 2000 Domain and is no a2003domain (have now introduced a 2003 R2 Server and upgraded the Domain as required. The Home Folders are a Share on a Server 2003 SP1 (non R2) hidden share (Staff$) Security on the Folders are ,Domain admins, and the userswith full access. Our usernames are members of Domain adminsand Domain Users (I have experimented ti removing and adding group no change)Further to theabove listed Programs, Firefox (just for a non microsoft program to test)The R-click menu on the Folder does not list "New"Drag and drop works fineI can open and Save work Doc in the folderbut can not Save ASSub Folders Work correctlyThe Home Folder works correctly when I boot the Computer up in XPI tested my user name from the other techs W7 Maching same problem on a different machineThis problem is the only one that is causing me to reboot back in to XP to access my outlook PST File that lives in the root of my home drive. (I access it from serveral machines hence moving is a pain)So very impressed with this OS (much better than Vista). Another Bug I have Found With the Task Bar along the Left Side of the screen (Nvidia Graphics Card Microsoft Drivers) if you drag the start bar wider then drag it back. the Desktop icons move to the new width but the blured background of the bar stays at the wider width. can bereset by draging the bar to the bottom and dragging it back to the side. Thanks
