Can not get clients files to update
A client of mine had a computer crash. His new computer has VISTA 64BIT If we copy his backup files to where they belong, and open up our appliation none of his files are their. If we look at it the directory the files look like they are their. If we erase all the files, and try to go into the program the program should not even open up (we erased the files), but it still does. Which makes me think either the client is not following my instructions (he is 4 states away), or vista has created seperate locations with the path and file name, but are under seperate user accounts. I presume it is some sort of a security system problem. So we booted in safe mode and it has a program files and a program files 32 bit directory. How can I find the correct place to copy the data.

Hi The architecture of the programs determines where they are installed. 32bit programs are installed in the Program Files32 folder and 64bit programs are installed in the Program Files folder. Hope this helps. If this post helps to resolve your issue, click the Mark as Answer button at the top of this message. Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience
