I have an issue with a Windows box that there should be a relatively easy fix for, it is alluding me for the moment. The box has listings for 3 USB virtual ports that I can not delete and after repeated re-boots they still remain. When I simply try to delete them I get an error "the selected port con not be deleted. This operation is not supported" I have tried several methods to delete them with the same result. I have tried to find them in the registry but they are not where the other ports are listed. I'm a little baffled by this, and really don't want to have to do a clean install to solve this problem, but that where I'm heading any suggestions? Back ground: all the printers have been installed, or deleted. The virtual ports where created by an IEEE 1284 print cable used to translate a parallel Epson POS receipt printer to USB (which works very well usually) but in this case has created several other ports (3 in total). That I would like to delete and start over.

how are you trying to delete the ports? Through device manager?

tried the device manager, tried the print manager, and looked at the registry I could not determine which folder they might be in. In desprration I also loaded the printmanager from the MMC console as well. Thanks for the relpy.
