The internet does not work when ever I attempt to run any of the applications that I have in the start menu. But I could connect to the internet when I go to internet explorer through my desktop but the internet explorer app does not work when I use it through the start menu where all the applications are. The internet is not the issue because I have internet on all of my other computers. Please Help.
Honestly There is no obvious solution, Could you please give more Information, What Programs Are You Trying To Run, Are You On Windows 8 or 8.1, Are you using wired or wireless internet connection, also when did this problem start occurring and does a safe boot, restart or shutdown help??

I am running Windows 8. It is a wireless internet connection and I believe the problem began to occur when I used the airplane mode that would turn the wireless connection off. I have already turned the airplane mode off and there is internet wireless connection on the computer. When I attempt to do a troubleshoot on the connection nothing comes up it says that it is fine. The programs that I attempt to run are any of the applications that are in the start menu section which I access from the charms bar on the right side of the screen. The start menu section I am referring to is the option I have when I swipe the screen on the right side and the charms bar pops up and there is the start button which then shows me various tiles which I believe to be applications. When I choose the desktop tile from the start menu and then open internet explorer would be the only way in which I can get on the internet. I have restarted and shutdown the computer but the problem is still occurring.
Thank you for your response,

The internet does not work when ever I attempt to run any of the applications that I have in the start menu.
Others reporting this symptom also mention that they can't use the Change PC Settings tool (Win-I, Backtab, Enter). A commonly advised solution is to use the Windows Store troubleshooter wsreset.exe and if that doesn't work see if another account does. Then cloning the problem account's profile may be required. Note that you cannot have disabled UAC. Etc.
Hi,
Please check if there is any proxy setting enabled in Internet option, if so, please clear it and check the issue.
If there is any 3rd part security application or firewall installed on your computer, please disable them to check the results.
Meanwhile, please run App troubleshooter and Account troubleshooter in this article to check the issue:

Hope these could be helpful.
