Can not Renew IP address
I have just recently moved from the United States to Germany. I can connect to the military internet provider, but when I try to connect wirelessly to a German provider I am informed that my IP address can not be renewed. My husbands computer and several other friend's computer connects to with no problems. I am the only one having this problem. I have tried two different networks with the same result. Please help, I am at my wits end.2 people need an answerI do too

Are you using Wireless Zero to connect, or the manufacturer's utility - if the latter, please state software name, and version (from the Help>About menu)If using Wireless Zero, You need to delete the connectoid in the configuration and rebuild itThis sort of error meqans taht your connctoid is out of whack with the router in some way - it's easier to scrap the existing connectoid, and start again than to repair the existing one.HTH Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC

This problem has almost driven me to drink.JerryJerry,You stuck what seem to be related questions onto the end of two separate threads. This one started 3 months ago. The other one was started in February.PLEASE start a new thread with a meaningful subject and some details about what your problem is and what you have tried so far. Please quote any error messages in full (don't paraphrase). As close as I can determine from your statement in the other thread that you "have the same problem" (as some unidentified part of that 7-month old thread), you seem to be having difficulty authenticating to a wireless network. Typically, this is caused by incorrectly entering your password and/or using an incorrect encryption setting. When you start your own thread, include in it the results of ipconfig /all as follows:Open a Command Prompt Window (Start > Run > cmd > OK)Type the following and press enter ipconfig /all > "%UserProfile%\Desktop\ip.txt {Enter}Find the file ip.txt on your Desktop, open it with Notepad, and paste the contents into your post.

Hi LemI was trying to see what Noel was saying about re doing a connection. My connection stopped working on my laptop. When I run MS fix it says Aquiring address and it never does. I have tried a lot of fis. I need to know how to delete the existing wireless connection and do a new one. I am convinced this is the only fix.

"Acquiring address and ... never" getting an IP address is indicative of using the wrong encryption password or other security issue. To "delete" the existing wireless connection:open Network Connections right click on the icon for your wireless adapter, select Properties click the Wireless Networks tab in the list of "Preferred networks, select your network (or all networks that you don't recognize) and click the "Remove" button. To establish a new connection, click the "View Wireless Networks" tab, select your network and click Connect. Enter the correct password when prompted.
