Can my Computer be Fixed? Family Safety Won't Allow Access to Internet
Iinstalled Family Safetyon my computer for the few occasions when grandchildren visit us. It was too disruptive so I turned off the filtering. Our printer stopped working and we got the blue screen of death a few times. This too wasdisruptive so I deleted the account. Now I can't get the Internet to connect. I am able to get into the Internet through my phone so I can read a response here. I can also get e-mails on the phone, but right now I am in the middle of a major project and stuck with no computer. We are running Windows XP on a Dell Dimension Desktop and IE 8.Is there any help for this situation?Thank you.

I had to log in to Family Safety again. I feel trapped and very disappointed that this happened. This is the second that I can't get on to the Internet. Now the error message says that There is a problem with the connection to the Family Safety service... I'm sure you"re familiar with the message so I won't repeat it here. Error code is 80048869. It wants a parent to signin. I amthe parent. Do I need to recreate an account? If so, how do I do that? I would really rather remove Family Safety because it is too aggravating. Thank you for your help. Thread Title Can my Computer be Fixed? Family Safety Won't Allow Access to Internet I removed The check from the box next to Networking, and restarted the computer twice. I also unchecked Messenger. Guess what happened when I restarted the computer. Messenger tried to sign in. Doesn"t usually do that. Now what?
