Can i manually assign a network location for a nic which is recognized by windows as "unidentified network"?
I have 2 nic on my computer. One is connected to Internet(NIC A) and another is connected to a private network(NIC B). I don't set gateway for B otherwise there would be two gateway, instead, i add a persistent route for the private network so B know where the gateway is. but now the NIC B is recognized by windows as "unidentified network", thus it is treated as public network. Now i want to manually assign this NIC as private network, and i don't like the way that modify the group policy to treat all "unidentified network" as private network as it a security risk. is there any other way to achieve this?o_O

Hi, I’m afraid that hard to achieve this. If you want to change NIC form unidentified network to private network, you should set it in Local Security Policy---Network List Manager Policies. But as you said, all unidentified network will recognized as private network. Thank you for your understanding.
