Can a standard user (with the proper rights) install a font with UAC enabled?
I need my users to be able to install fonts with font management software. The users have standard level accounts, but I have delegated them write access to C:\Windows\Fonts and to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes And Required for PostScript fonts (PFM & PFB): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Type 1 Installer But when they use the software to install or deactivate a font they are prompted with a UAC window asking for an admin user/pass which they don’t have. I want to be able to keep UAC enabled, but I also need the users to manage fonts. Is there an exception I can set in UAC?

By default, standard users have no permission to install programs. With User Account Control (UAC) enabled, standard users need to provide the administrator account password to install programs. With UAC disabled, standard users cannot install programs. Therefore, I think the only way to workaround the issue is disabling UAC.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
