Can Locked Folder Be Accessed?
Hi, First, let me know this files location and what exactly error information did you get when you try to delete this folder( Screenshot should be better). In my opinion, I guess the folder you want to delete is a system folder which contains sub-folders each user profile on the machine. Therefore I would not suggest you to delete such folder. But if this folder is not system folder, its probably the permission issue. To make sure, right click that folder->properties->Security->Advanced->Owner->In Current owner make sure is your current login account name. if its not, click edit-> in change owner to, choose the right owner name and click ok.

The folder in question is sitting on the desktop, and was created to hod extra docs, pdfs, mp3s spreadsheets, and text notes. I was in the middle of changing it's name when locked a week ago. Didin't delete because it contains those files, but hovering the mouse shows 0 files in folder. FILE ASSASSIN shows 79.0 MB of data (which are the files mentioned above which can't be accessed. File Assassin actually shows the icons for the data- not shorcuts, but the only action it offers is deleting it.) So I ran a Vipre scan, whichs 220 files from that folder were successfully scanned with no traces of malware, spyware, etc.) QUESTION: No tech yet has been able to answer this or provide a solution.... HOW CAN THE FILES IN THE FOLDER BE FOUND BY FILE ASSASSIN, AND SCANNED BY VIPRE IF THEY DON'T EXIST?, and WINDOWS has LOCKED the folder itself, and hovering the mouse shows NO DATA & NO FILES IN THAT FOLDER? Summary: Should I just let File Assassin or Unlocker just delete it and forget all about regaining access to my poor files? Thanks- Action pending your response.. gc
