Can I uninstall Windows 7 Beta?
Before I install Windows 7 is there a way to uninstall Windows 7?

No. There's no way to "uninstall" any operating system that I can think of. If you want to use a different OS, you have to install that OS.

But what if the OS I wanted (Vista) is installed?

Well, if you want to keep your Vista install, your best bet would to be to install 7 to a separate partition and dual boot. Then if you wanted to get rid of 7 later, you'd just have to reformat that partition and fix the boot manager.

The only way you can 'uninstall' the operating system is to reformat the drive and re-install another operating system. If you have Windows Vista on your machine and want to try Windows 7 your best bet is to create another partition and install Windows 7 on that new partition, effectively creating a dual boot system. When you boot your machine you will then be presented with a menu giving you the option to either boot into Vista or Windows 7John Barnett - Windows XP Associate Expert; Windows Desktop Experience. - Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org

The Windows 7 installation help note does not have a warning that a new boot manager will be installed on the primary drive. I installed Windows 7 on a secondary drive, expecting that my primary drive would be left alone. How do I return to using my old Windows XP boot sequence.

If you do an image backup of your C: drive before you install Win 7 Beta (I use Acronis True Image 11) if you get hosed or just don't like it, you should be able to just restore your image and MBR and you'll be good to go. NB I havent' specifically done this but I did try Explorer 8 Beta and didn't like it. Restored C: image and back to where I was.otc

I had the same issue. I use 3 hard drives. Finally just said eff it. Migrated files over to this drive and formatted others. Since installing ubuntu on my laptop I didnt need that partition anyway. so for me it was bittersweet. I would recommend a secondary beta system.either that or run in VM.
