Can I recover emails in Outlook Express after a clean reinstall of windows XP?
I performed a clean reistall of windows XP and lost my address book and emails. I didn't realize, that unlike most other email systems, that Outlook Express was actually located on my computer. Is there a way to recover those emails or did I just learn a lesson? 1 person needs an answerI do too

Is this a POP3 account? If this is a POP3 account, you are probably SOL, but before you give up, give this tool a try. It may find messages, and it is free, so no harm to try.Recuvahttp://www.piriform.com/recuvaBruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

Whether you use it or any other emailprogram, it's located on your computer.I'm not sure I know what you mean by "email systems," but the onlykind of e-mail that's not a program and is not located on yourcomputer is one that you access through a web browser. Is there a way to recover those emails or did I just learn a lesson? Unless you have a backup (which you always should have) you arealmost certainly out of luck. But you can try what Bruce Hagensuggests; it's unlikely to help, but there's no reason not to try.Ken Blake (MS MVP)
