Can I disable powersave functions for a specific application?
Hello,I download my TV shows from the internet. My computer goes into powersave mode if I'm not doing anything else at the time. I wouldn't mind the monitor shutting down but I'd need to keep most other things running when that application (vuze) is running. Can you let me know what I should do to make an exception for that app? Thanks

You can't make an exception for an app, but you can stop it from going to sleep. Go to "Control Panel", "Hardware and Sounds","Power Options", "Change plane settings" (right hand side), where it says "Put computer to sleep" click the drop down menue and click "Never".This should not let you computer get any rest and ultimatly not stoping the downloads.

Thanks. Anyone know if there is a way to make a batch file to flip power profiles so I don't have to go back and forth to that level each time?

You can try: 1. Launch Device Manger.2. Expand Network adapters. 3. Double-click on the listed network adapter. Choose Power Management. 4. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. If you would like to change power plans via command lines, you can use powercfg commands. 1. Open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options, click Create a power plan in the left pane.2. Change the plan settings for the new created custom plan. 3. Open cmd, enter powercfg list. You will obtain a list of GUIDs for all power plans including the custom plan.4. Use the following command to make a power plan active. powercfg setactive {GUID}Arthur Xie - MSFT
